Exciting changes are coming to Plant City. Sitting on the former YMCA site, the development of the Young Street Splash Pad and Skate Park will bring new amenities to the area. This ambitious project, located at 502 E. Young Street, will provide a recreational space for residents of all ages, enhancing the community’s outdoor activity options.

The City of Plant City, in collaboration with Hillsborough County, has initiated the development of a state-of-the-art splash pad and skate park. The project is designed to transform an existing recreational area into a modern, multi-use facility. The construction site spans approximately 2.7 acres and will include various amenities aimed at promoting outdoor fun and physical activity.

The upcoming facility will include:

• A Splash Pad: A water play area with interactive features designed for children and families.
• A Skate Park: A professionally designed skateboarding area catering to both beginner and advanced skaters.
• Pump Track: A track designed for BMX riders and cyclists to enjoy an exhilarating ride.
• Playground & Outdoor Fitness Area: Spaces for children’s play and adult exercise to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
• Parking & Stormwater Management System: To accommodate visitors and ensure environmental sustainability.

The project is part of a broader initiative to improve public spaces and infrastructure within Plant City. Construction plans are being developed by WSP, an engineering and design firm, with oversight from local authorities. The project adheres to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards and includes provisions for environmental sustainability, such as erosion control measures and stormwater drainage systems.

The Young Street Splash Pad and Skate Park is expected to bring significant benefits to Plant City, including:
