A project long requested by local residents after years of traffic accidents and increased congestion due to new developments; the Sam Allen & Park Road Signalization Project is a crucial infrastructure initiative designed to enhance roadway operations, improve pedestrian accessibility, and ensure a safer travel experience for all road users. The project appears to be paid for by the developers behind some of the large developments that have occurred in North East Plant City, and does not appear at this time to be using city, county, or state funding.

The signalization project, prepared for Eisenhower Property Group, LLC, involves the installation of traffic signals, new roadway markings, and improved pedestrian crossings. The project scope includes:

• Traffic Signal Installation: New mast arm signal poles with high-visibility LED signals.
• Roadway Enhancements: Milling and resurfacing of the intersection to accommodate the signalization improvements.
• Signage and Pavement Markings: Implementation of new guide signs, stop signs, and high-visibility pavement markings to enhance driver awareness.
• Enhanced Safety: Construction of ADA-compliant sidewalks and ramps; and pedestrian crosswalks, countdown timers, and flashing beacons will improve safety for walkers and cyclists.

Project Timeline The signalization project is scheduled to proceed in phases, with key milestones including:

• Initial planning and design approval
• Utility coordination and infrastructure preparation
• Signal installation and roadway resurfacing
• Final testing and activation of the traffic signals

The intersection of Sam Allen Road and North Park Road has been identified as a high-traffic area requiring improved safety measures. Residents and commuters can expect smoother traffic operations, reduced accident risks, and a more pedestrian-friendly environment once the project is completed.
