In September, developers purchased the property located at 3110 James L Redman Pkwy, Plant City, FL for $6,000,000, marking the beginning of an ambitious multifamily housing project in the area. When complete the site, which sits directly across from First Baptist Church of Plant City, will host a modern community called Prose Plant City which will feature 360 multifamily units spread across eight separate buildings. These buildings will vary in height, ranging from three to four stories tall, offering a mix of housing options designed to cater to a variety of residents.
The development will also feature numerous amenities to enhance the quality of life for its future residents. Plans include a playground and grill area for outdoor recreation and social gatherings, a dog park for pet owners, and another community amenity behind the clubhouse, which is expected to be either a swimming pool or a similarly attractive outdoor feature. These thoughtful additions aim to create a well-rounded, family-friendly living environment.
Access to the community has also been carefully planned. To accommodate increased traffic flow, two turn lanes will be added on James L. Redman Parkway—one for southbound traffic and another for northbound traffic—ensuring smoother entry and exit for residents and visitors. However, there are no plans to install a traffic light at the entrance. Additionally, an emergency access-only entrance/exit will be constructed on Sparkman Road, providing an added layer of safety for residents. The blueprint for the complex also indicates that gates may be installed, suggesting the entire community could be a gated complex, offering added privacy and security.

The project spans 14.89 acres, a sizable plot that historically served agricultural purposes, including as a hay operation and a tree farm. By November, land clearing was well underway, with old trees and remnants of past agricultural structures and equipment being removed to prepare the site for construction. This transformation underscores the shift from the area’s rural past to its increasingly urbanized future.
The development reflects a growing trend in the region. The city’s decision to extend utilities along State Road 39 to State Road 60 has made the area more attractive to developers. As a result, new housing projects like this one are becoming more common, reshaping the local landscape and addressing the increasing demand for residential options in the area. Once completed, this community will be a significant addition, blending modern living with convenient access to local amenities and infrastructure.
